What Rodent Cleanup Includes

Every situation is different. The amount of work needed depends on the extent of the infestation and the materials affected.

Rodent cleanup may include:

  • Careful removal of droppings, dead rodents and nesting material.
  • Removal of contaminated carpet and other porous materials/items such as furniture, clothing, etc.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of hard non-porous surfaces
  • Odor treatment when needed
  • Photos documentation

We assess the affected space and explain what needs to be removed, what may be cleaned, and what may be saved.

Do Not Attempt to Clean the Mess Yourself

Rodents can carry bacteria and viruses.

Household cleaners, mops, and shop vacuums are not designed for this rodent cleanup. Cleaning without proper training and protective equipment may spread contamination instead of removing it, cause potential liability for yourself and make it more difficult for us to know where the activity was originally present if you call us after you started cleaning.

Rodent Cleanup FAQ's

1. How much does a rodent cleanup costs?

The cost depends on the size of the affected area, the materials involved and the amount of contamination. An average ballpark price will be between $800-$1,500 plus tax, but it is usually combined with hoarding or junk removal as well.

2. Should I try to get rid of the rodents before having a rodent cleanup performed?

Yes. Call a pest control company first or lay traps yourself and after a week or two of no more activity, give us a call. You don’t want to have to pay twice for a cleanup because droppings showed up after we first cleaned.

3. Should I try to clean the area myself?

No. Rodent droppings and urine contaminated materials may expose you to Hantavirus (can be become airborne) and other viruses and bacteria that can cause harm or death.

4. When can the cleanup begin?

Rodent cleanup and disinfection can begin usually within 2-4 days.

5. How long does rodent cleanup take?

Cleanups can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days with most cleanups being completed within a day.

6. Will the entire home need to be cleaned?

Sometimes. Only the affected area and any places where droppings and urine are found. We inspect the everything carefully so only necessary rooms and materials are cleaned.

7. Do you get rid of the rodents?

No. We are not a pest control company. We just clean and disinfect the mess they make.
